Best Restaurants in Pittsburgh Party

I was fortunate enough to attend the Best Restaurants in Pittsburgh Party held at Heinz Field on Monday June 8th.

The party was sponsored by Pittsburgh Magazine and proceeds benefited the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. The foods available for sampling were outstanding. A little bit of everything, from specialty salads, pastas, sea food, meatballs, and even dessert. Last year’s winner was Cure Restaurant at 5336 Butler Street in Lawrenceville, and their food is fantastic.

This year’s winner will be announced in a future issue of Pittsburgh Magazine. My personal favorite was the delicious sea bass from Nine on Nine at 900 Penn Ave Downtown. A very close second were the meatballs from Sienna Mercato at 942 Penn Ave Downtown. The thanksgiving meatballs have everything from turkey, to stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberries all in 1 bite.

There is no better way to kick off the summer then eating some of the best food Pittsburgh has to offer while overlooking the city skyline and the Steeler’s home field.
